Huangpu River Cruise

Shanghai’s Huangpu River Rruise offers sweeping views of the contrasting skylines- and visions- of Shanghai on the opposing banks of the Huangpu River. To the west are the Bund’s stately commercial houses, hotels and banks, which are reminiscent of 1930s colonial Shanghai. To the east are the hypermodern skyscrapers of Pudong, which form a futuristic cityscape and embody the city’s audacious development over the past half century. Winding along the river from the South Bund to Wusong, visitors are free to step on deck and admire both waterfronts, one commemorating a bygone era while the other stands tall as a bold promise for the future. In addition to the Bund’s colonial-era structures and Pudong’s whimsically modern skyscrapers, the Nanpu and Yangpu Bridges also offer up a stunning sight for travelers, and between all these architectural masterpieces and the unceasing traffic along the river there is plenty to keep your wandering eyes busy. While most nighttime cruises last about an hour, cruise schedules vary depending on the season, and on weekends additional cruises are occasionally offered.
