Our guests have been happy with these hotels (so are we as we’ve personally stayed in them too), and we’re sure you would be too! Here’s a curated list of hotels which we think possess a good degree of comfort, luxury and a dash of uniqueness.
Hotels in Beijing
Beijing Regent is centrally located in Wangfujing area and walking distance to Wangfujing Street, Forbidden City and 15-20 minutes to Tiananmen Square. This hotel provides great comfort and convenience, with modern aesthetics, spacious rooms and nice amenities such as a pool and gym. The staff speak good English and the breakfast is top notch too!
Park Plaza Beijing Wangfujing is located just next to Beijing Regent and there also in Wangfujing Street. It is an extremely convenient location, along with good breakfast, niec rooms and friendly staff. The gym is shared between the 2 hotels, thus guests may also use the gym located at Regent Beijing, a huge plus if you’ll like to slip in a quick workout.
Opposite House is designed by a Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. A brand under the Swire Group, it is the sister hotel of Temple House in Chengdu, Upper House in Hong Kong and Middle House in Shanghai. Featuring a strong contrast of modern contemporary with traditional design, this hotel also serves as a contemporary art gallery, with exhibitions each season by artists from all over the world.
Vue Hotel is centrally located in Beijing and in the Hutong/Hou Hai area. Designed by a Singaporean Architecture company Ministry of Design. With a unique wild whimsy aesthetics, this hotel is a unique world of its own.
If you are looking to stay somewhere with a traditional ambience, Aman Summer Palace Beijing might just be what you are looking for. Inspired by Ming and Qing Dynasty aesthetics, the hotel rooms overlook quiet courtyards and offer a tranquil sense of timelessness.
Hotels in Datong
Datong Yunzhong Inn is a boutique hotel with a traditional ambience that’s absolutely lovely. It has a historical courtyard that has been converted to the lodge. Not to worry, this hotel comes with modern amenities/services such as wifi and an airport shuttle.
Howard Johnson Jindi Plaza Datong Hotel, has a great location and is a heartbeat away from the bustling commercial and cultural district. A great alternative and slightly less expensive option to Datong Yunzhong Inn.
Hotels in Wutaishan Mountain
A brand familiar with most, Marriott Hotel Wutaishan was recently built in 2016, just out side of the Wutaishan Sightseeing area. This means great views from the hotel, and new, modern rooms and facilities for you to enjoy!
Wu Tai Mountain Friendship Hotel was newly redecorated in 2014 and located within Wutaishan Sightseeing area. Great views and fresh mountain air await! This hotel has a unique Traditional Chinese decor which compliments the surroundings well.
Hotels in Pingyao
Ancient City A small boutique hotel with only 19 rooms, Jing’s Residence in Pingyao’s Ancient City is a refurbished mansion of a wealthy merchant from 260 years ago. Jing’s Residence is a member of Relais & Châteaux, an exclusive collection of the finest hotels and most exclusive restaurants around the world.
YunJinCheng Hotel very limited rooms and was originally a 300 years old traditional courtyard. Staying in this very convenient hotel, you’ll get a glimpse of how the people of old times lived.
